It was a great site during beta, but after it went public like you said, blocklists created by the most influential users would hide ANYONE they disagreed with. I didn't have a problem with it until Bluesky moderation started labeling accounts, so it just became this site where you would never be discovered if you upset more than a single person.
I had my entire account hidden because even marked NSFW will get you a porn label.
