Look at the number of conflicts around the world that are going on daily.

Why doesn't the world line up on either side of them and pump billions of dollars in aid I to the conflict?

Answer, because they are 'local' conflicts that regardless of who wins, they pretty much only effect to countries involved.

That's what the world thought about Ukraine when putin invaded Crimea.

The bs stories russia put out to justify it were accepted and everyone hoped that it would appease putin and he would step back from the brink.

Instead, he reorganized and attacked again. He intends to rebuild the USSR and recapture every country they lost AND expand beyond.

Why?

Because putin wants the 'glory' of being remembered as the guy who rebuilt and expanded the empire.

If Ukraine falls, he moves onto his next targets which include members of NATO.

There is no scenario in which he is happy just taking Ukraine.
