Seriously soak it in hot water with Epsom salts until cool. That will help to reduce the swelling and pain. Keep it elevated as much as possible. I'm glad you can rest for a few days. Don't be too afraid of anti-inflamatories. They can help if it gets too bad. (and I'm not a fan of most pills/medicines.)
