I’ve long asserted that many of society’s problems relate to a fundamental ignorance of statistics and I’m a big proponent of kids taking stats in school - certainly there is probably room to improve how it’s taught, but I digress.

The last few years have convinced me that macro economics is also a basic necessary to be a functioning member of society. I can feel my neurons shriveling up and dying every time I listen to discussions on who pays for tariffs and a misunderstanding of how government spending slots into gdp, and even how interest rates work.
