It probably confuses some younger folks that the DHCP client port resolves to "bootpc" via /etc/services.
But there was this whole less sophisticated predecessor to DHCP called BOOTP. And it was a lot better than RARP (literally reverse ARP).
I think the last time I actually had to worry about BOOTP was playing with then-obsolete computers in the late-90s.
