I have noticed the lack of interaction - much of the time I see monologues, rarely do I see a conversation.
Perhaps it's the people - mostly introverts - who have retreated to Mastodon to avoid the hustle-bustle and aggravation of the other social media platforms. I'm one, but I do - occasionally - interact whenever there is something of interest, or worthy of comment.
Even hashtags seem to evoke few responses.
