npub19kr9jlq66y804t0a64adl39n5ztp3wunvaqv4q52k4cq3q685z2qu48m4r (npub19kr…8m4r) Can someone explain to me why it's ok to have a party for elected officials that excludes people of one race? I'm honestly struggling to understand this.
I've been a liberal Democrat my entire life and I don't understand why people are just like "this is fine".
Make the argument instead of just assuming we all agree with you. If you convince me that I'm wrong I will admit it publicly, but I really need to hear the argument because this doesn't feel right to me.
So far all I see is people taking cheap shots at the loathsome Howie Carr or laughing off the question.
Did the party take place in a private venue? Were any public resources used? Did mayor Wu's email use the state email system (sounds like yes) or private email? Why does it matter if it's a tradition or not?
Councillor Arroyo's Twitter comment seemed to completely miss the point.
Confused.
(I don't subscribe to the Globe or Herald so I can't read the linked articles, but I found the masslive article.)
