Oil prices fell slightly on Friday as the threat of Hurricane Rafael's impact on oil and gas production in the US Gulf of Mexico receded, while the market continued to assess the impact of President-elect Donald Trump's policies on supplies. Brent crude futures fell 26 cents or 0.3% to $75.37 a barrel by 0209 GMT. West Texas Intermediate crude rose 35 cents or 0.5% to $72.01 a barrel. Both benchmarks rose about 1% on Thursday. Over the week, Brent is expected to rise 3.1% and West Texas Intermediate 4.1%. A strong dollar makes oil more expensive for holders of other currencies and tends to put downward pressure on prices.
