I’m interested in getting a reliable HAM radio set up. Would you recommend the Yaesu FT2D?
I have no idea how HAM works. If you have a device independent of a computer (like the Yaesu) where are you broadcasting to? Is HAM best for direct comms to others eg family friends?
I see some cheap devices online like the BAOFENG 8W. Are they worth buying and setting up with family?
