"Research" about homosexuality is still concerned with how to cure it though. There's nothing to research about being able to feel sexual attraction, and no mammal except humans has orientations, pointing at the fact that heterosexuality is conditioned. You can only obsessively look for a gay gene if you keep believing that homosexuality is a disorder. And then if a gay gene is found "for progress", it will still be used for cure, because men made sure that it's cool for lesbians and gays to hate themselves and want to be straight. No treatment will have to be forced, people will ask for it.
