Small feel good story if you're interested.
My team at work is split between the UK and Poland and the last few years we've been doing collections to buy toys and craft materials for children at an orphanage in Poland.
This year we collected money from our staff to renovate a room at the orphanage, a chill out type space for the kids. We're not a huge team but we raised the funds for materials and furniture and two of our local team gave up 4 weekends to do the renovation work themselves.
They turned an old store room into a modern, soundproofed space, with mood lighting, comfy furniture and a nicely finished floor. Unrecognisable from the previous room.
My main guy, a stoic kind of bloke, was getting a bit wobbly chinned telling me about seeing the kids reaction when they saw the room. They were beside themselves, couldn't believe, this was for them!
To add a final pinch of love, it was my main guys birthday but he gave it up to get the job finished. The kids happiness was his gift.
I'm so proud and grateful to work with people like this man.
