Speaking of the doors being thrown open wide...
This is an icon of Christ and the angels leading the concentration camp prisoners out of Dachau. The liberation happened on Orthodox Palm Sunday, April 29, 1945, by American soldiers. (Western Easter fell on April 1 that year.)
This icon is over the altar in the Russian Orthodox chapel just outside the walls of the camp, beside the former crematorium.
