High speed trains need much longer separation for stopping, so grab extra traffic slots.\n\nHS2 will enable the existing network to carry vastly more trains, AS WELL AS carrying its own high speed services.\n\nWe need it the way Japan needed Shinkansen in the 60s and France needed TGV.",
