Diospyros nigra, black sapote (chocolate pudding fruit)

This fruit has been hanging on my tree for over a year, finally tree ripened. The fruits are variable from tree to tree but mine is good. It is sweet and has some bits that are sweetly floral like orange blossom. The overall taste is like carob.
