As a user that doesn't want to be a developer of *all* of my programs, I absolutely disagree.
Static analysis must be done so that developers can fix problems before I (or any other user) encounter them. Sufficient static analysis also generates an optimized-for-runnning form that I want to call a "compiled binary".
FLOSS should be the default, preferred form of distribution, but not everyone should have to deal with developer/maintainer problems.
