"content": "Time for an updated #Introduction\n\nWe're the official Mastodon page for #AlbacorePark!\n\nThe park features a maritime museum, gift shop and memorial garden, and offers self-guided tours through a preserved submarine known as the USS Albacore (AGSS-569). \n\nThe #USSAlbacore was launched in 1953 (see photo) by the U.S. Navy as a research submarine. Decommissioned in 1972, it was later brought to what is now known as Albacore Park, where it was opened to the public in 1986.
