Depends on the legislation where you live and if it's a gift or not.
If you zap bitcoin you purchased as a gift it may be argued its a gift, so not a taxation event unless gift tax exists.
However, even if gift tax exists the zap and any accrued value zapped to that person during a year is usually well below taxation limit for a gift, I assume.
However, you may need to tax the zaps you get unless again; a gift, look at the accrued and who zapped you? Zapping any type of fee/payment is a service and yes a taxable event. You have to pay gains taxes/may do deducts against the acquisition value.

Bottom line, how far can you get with the argument, the zap is a gift? What's the gift tax? If not gift, is it a gain or a loss?
