That's why this place exists, to make a social network that isn't a spying machine. The reason Twitter, Facebook etc misbehave is ultimately because they are centralised.
If mastodon.social becomes a majority of the network, then this place will turn into the same hellscape that Twitter, Facebook etc are now.
