In reality hamas has been stalling ever since March 1 by refusing to release any more hostages.
They played for time and it blew up in their face. They should have heeded the warnings. Now the gates of hell are open and if at any time hamas decides they have had enough then they can release the hostages and bombing will immediately stop.
