Between 1995 and 2022 Sweden was in Schrödinger's military alliance.
The EU common defence paragraph, Article 42.7 is if anything *stronger* than Nato's Article 5. But it also says it:
"shall not prejudice the specific character of the security and defence policy of certain Member States". As a loophole for neutral countries.
After February 24, 2022, Sweden leapt up and said THIS DOESN'T APPLY TO US.
In reality that was the day Sweden's 'non-alignment' ended.
