I haven't looked at ruggedized cables but it is a bit more complex than a more solid cable. It needs to reach specs for cable chain (friction, radius, lifespan, etc). I am sure there are some made for that but the price would be very expensive as the cable is quite complex compared to CAN-FD.
Yes USB needs dedicated cables and connectors, I was more talking about the protocol than the cable in this case. It is easier and cheaper to make a dedicated USB cable I think.
