It's not impossible, but it seems unlikely. All else being equal, having the support of union when negotiating your contract would be more likely to help you get remote work hours written into it. Also to help you get rid of non-compete clauses, any clauses that allow your employers to claim "IP" on work you do in your spare time, etc.
