Ibn Sina, commonly known as Avicenna is considered to be the father of modern medicine. His research though, went against the belief and the rules of his religion, which prohibited the dead bodies to be treated in such a way. The present day view on the human body, that of a machine, is the result of it. When desacralizing the body, controlling the life force comes easy.
