I always was confused by the terms "son of God" and "son of man". Jesus wasn't given birth to as God and has existed as long as God the Father, so how is He His son? Yes Jesus, in human form, was born of woman, but how is He "son of man"? I finally understood that the "son of" could be translated as "of the same substance as". This is where one of the statements of faith (forget which one) gets the statement "fully God and fully man".
