The "age of the credit card" is coming to an end. It's no different than giving another person the password to your bank account or the keys to your crypto wallet. Every time you use your card, the receiving business or person can take as much as they want in the future.
It's only by trust in each other that they don't. But, not everyone or every business is trustworthy.
