The UK's #housingcrisis is complex but these 2 charts establish key elements.
Despite changing household character & shifting demands about living, the Uk has roughly the same proportion of homes to population its had for years.
But developers have increased their holdings of land ('land banks') as yet not built on. This may be due to the slowness of the planning process (and NIMBYism) but may also be a #business strategy to rise prices by limiting supply!
It doesn't have to be like this!
