Heat exhaustion is just no fun, especially a long way from home. Uncle Google says that Mount Storm King is the most popular hike on the Olympic Peninsula. It's a beautiful area and the out-and-back hike to the lighthouse on the sandspit at Sequim is a hike that I personally recommend, even though it's not part of your backpacking repertoire. It's a glorious walk.
