I often see folks push for changing the way IUD insertion is done. As someone who has one, I do wish pain control was better but I take huge opposition to making an in-office procedure an OR procedure.
- doing an IUD under conscious sedation/gen anesthesia would make it way more expensive, require a driver to go home for the patient, and since OBGYNs only get so much surgery block time and now what takes 10 minutes in office takes over 4x as long, access would be extremely limited.
