I just watched a TV show featuring the fine British actor Damian Lewis, whose role is as an American. His accent is spot on.
Is it just me or are British actors much better at American accents than American actors are at British accents? If so, why?
(Another example: I didn’t even know Hugh Laurie of “House” fame was British until I heard an interview with him. Freaked me out!)
American actors (e.g., Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jr.) seem to fare less well with their British accents.
