I used to run certain Linux distributions because I had hopes of actually working for those companies and wanted to know as much about those distributions as possible. Canonical, Red Hat, SUSE, etc., used to be at the top of the list of companies that I wanted to work for. A few months back, I threw away that list because it became quite clear that I would never get hired by those companies. Now, I run what I want simply because I want to. My days in Tech are pretty much over so none of that really matters anymore, anyway.
