After Olaf Scholz mocked Britain's trains, the FT looked at the data & concludes while the British train system is hardly a model of punctuality, its not as bad as the German system.
This is partly due to lower per-capita investment: €215 per person in Britain, but only €115 in Germany in 2023, leading to an even worse maintenance backlog than in Britain.
Neither system is doing that well, but some will seek solace from Germany (with a reputation for great engineering) doing worse!
