The Ammonite Pavement is a fossil graveyard at the western end of Monmouth Beach in Lyme Regis. The remains of thousands of ammonites are embedded in the limestone ledge, the main species being the huge Coroniceras. Exposed at low tide, the ledge extends from the base of the cliffs and is the only one of its kind in the world.
