So I do believe the historical perspective is interesting, and even useful, to see what incentive our social/political system had that brought certain consequences. but i don't think it makes sense to blame an entire group of people purely based on the fact that they just happened to have born in a specific period.

the difference is basically between "boomers were the problem" vs "due to X and Y, society changed which led to things like A and B happening, which were the foundations of current problems L and M". In the former you blame a group of people and that's it. the second allows us to learn from history.
