Is Money a Technology?
Yes, it is true, money is a Technology, even though it emerged approximately 600 years BC.
Like all Technology, it must be resistant to technological advances that occur over time to avoid dilution and loss of value.
Another characteristic of Technology is that it is made up of distinct elements that together determine its intrinsic value.
Properties and Functions of Money
Properties
Divisibility - It is divisible into smaller units and can be grouped into larger units.
Portability - Ability to be easily transported.
Durability - It has good resistance to corrosion and deterioration.
Unit of Account - Ability to express the price of different goods, assets and services.
Fungibility - That is, one Unit of money has the same value as another Unit of money.
Functions
Medium of exchange - Intermediate the exchange of objects, goods.
Store of Value - Good money should retain value for long periods of time.
In each period of history, people from different locations, according to their culture and technological advancement, choose something to serve as money.
We have reached the end of my first mission, to answer whether Money is a Technology and also demonstrate why.
