At what stage are you? I turned down bitcoin around 2014 because I wasn't interested in something speculative - I already had a diversified portfolio doing just fine.
It is when I truly understood fiat debasement - and then the education that Bitcoin could not be debased as well as its decentralized, uncensorable, unconfiscatable properties that could help people in the US who experienced the COVID lockdowns and censorship. That is when I started buying.
Then I realized what the Human Rights Foundation was already doing with it...and started buying more and becoming a more passionate advocate for bitcoin. Or at least those HRF stories became a part of my bitcoin apologist approach to convince people to do their own research on this once-in-a-species discovery.
Now, when I look at my approach, I very much believe in number go up and making the world a better place...and I struggle daily to not push all my chips into the middle of the bitcoin table. If it was just me, I'd do it. But my wife - who has supported this rapid transition to a bitcoin standard - who still wants some assurances of a traditionally diversified 401k, and a well-funded life insurance policy that would pay for her needs while she works out how to get access to the bitcoin.
2025 is the year I really start working on the inheritance planning, stubbing out "trusts" where we want to give when we die, etc. I already use Unchained with a multi-sig. Now need to decide if I engage their Sound Advisory or go with someone like the Bitcoin Way. Especially if 2025 is the year that I get a Start9 setup going to run my own node.
