As a protocol, #Nostr makes it possible for communities to form around any topic, location, or other point of commonality permissionlessly and provide value to and for members via Lightning payments all in a censorship-resistant way. One example of the kind of project I think you’re describing would be a Nostr client implementation of a community savings system—like the sou-sou savings clubs that exist throughout Africa and the Caribbean, largely driven by women, which have a long and rich history.
