Some days give more obvious immediate rewards than others, but they’re all worthwhile.
A few years ago, I went to Toubkal for the first time. I got up at 2.30 and made my way up in the dark, to see a spectacular sunrise near the summit. Had the whole mountain to myself. A good day.
Other days, I’ve got up in the dark and the visibility hasn’t got better all day! But always happy to have gone out.
