The vast majority have not been "cut loose" - they either left of their own volition or accepted that the political logic is - at least currently - against an explicitly socialist party gaining power in the UK
That "at least currently" is my interpretation of their thinking, not mine - socialism - in the sense promoted by the past leader - is permanently dead raight across the globe - it's time has past - obsolete just as is the divine right of Kings or European colonialism
