I started re-reading Peter Hamilton's Night's Dawn trilogy this past week. I remember thinking the first time I read it that while the underlying story was neat, a lot of the writing seemed very... dated. Subtle racism, sexism, weirdly unnecessary pro-capitalism propaganda, and worse
This time through I'm noticing that the -isms aren't exactly subtle? So I checked the copyright date expecting to be the 60s or 70s. Nope. Late 90s 🤦. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend the series. #scifi #bookstodon
