When I started studying at the university the first time, I studied high voltage electricity and my math teacher there was the best teacher I've ever had. He gave me the first introduction to university degree maths and had a very different approach than most teachers I've had before him.
He was heavily influenced by George Polya and he recommended the book "How to Solve It". I can really recommended it to someone wanting to improve their problem solving skills.
