I did winter wheat in a couple of my raised beds last winter. It didn’t winter kill at all and I ended up yanking chunks of wheat turf and flipping them roots up to die, but the plants didn’t have any time to decompose and they clogged everything. Not a success. Thinking about just heavy mulching this year.
