As I just said this morning before reading this. Everybody comes around to my thesis, eventually.
To summarize it: BTC will never be used as retail currency, because it sucks at it. But it will universally adopted as store of value and as large transaction settlement instrument.
This can only be driven by institutional and governmental adoption. The January 1, 2025 deadline for the entry into effect of the BIS regulation allowing all BIS member central banks (that's all of the important ones, including the FED, the ECB, Japan, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia...) to keep up to 2% of their reserves in crypto (basically BTC but maybe also ETH and others) will be a watershed moment.
In the meantime, they are already mining (Russia, China) or stealing (Germany, US) Bitcoin, and buying Microstrategy (Norway, Switzerland)...
