New, by me: U.S.. Treasury has sanctioned two Russian nationals accused of launching LockBit ransomware attacks.
The sanctions state one of the Russians is also involved with REvil, RansomEXX and Avaddon.
By sanctioning the two Russians linked to ransomware, it effectively means paying a ransom to these people (or associated groups) is illegal.
