I ran away screaming from Arch years ago, when one of their people said:
"We're going to do whatever Fedora does." I don't miss this sort of
random breakage, not one tiny bit.
One of the arguments I used when convincing an Arch fan to switch to Void
was: "You won't have random binaries with missing shared libs, because
the package manager and build system take pains to protect you from that."

In fairness, that's only true of stuff you install with the package manager.
I had to fix my from-source install of Nominatim earlier this week, because
it was missing some old boost library.
I suspect I wouldn't miss dynamic linking if it went away completely.
