I guess there's something to be said about food quality preservation in sealing cucumbers in plastic condoms. But we know it leaches chemicals, some of which may be worse than the pesticides avoided in organic production. There's the footprint of the plastic and foam: petroleum products at practically every point in that supply chain.
Also, that's not even the ideal way to store broccoli, maybe implicating a contribution to food waste.
I'm verklempt as to how to reconcile this.
