If (like me) you use #ASMR videos as relaxation aids, you may have noticed that the audio quality of some videos has become inconsistent or even jarring lately.
YouTube has introduced a normalization setting that forces all volume into a single more listenable range, like most broadcast radio uses. It's great for many videos, but terrible for ASMR (and probably classical music as well).
To disable it, tap the gear icon, go to additional settings, and turn off "stable volume".
