Literally everything you do on Nostr is some kind of note/event.

Liked someone's post? That's a kind 7 note.
Followed someone? Your kind 3 note got updated to include their npub.
Post an article on Habla.news or Highlighter? That's a kind 30023.
Zapped someone for a dank meme (probably , since his are the best)? That's a kind 9735.

Distinguishing the kind of note you are posting to a relay allows each client to determine what sort of information they are reading, and how to handle it in the client's UI, if that client supports displaying the event kind at all.

By making Olas' images a separate kind, clients can choose to display them in a separate feed from kind 1 notes (#Amethyst); display them in the same feed as kind 1 notes (I don't know of any at this point that do so); ONLY display that note kind and no others (#Olas); or ignore that note kind altogether (the vast majority of other clients).
