The old 300/f(MHz)=wavelength(M) formula? It's just an approximation. The 300 is simply a rounding up of c. You do remember that radio waves travel at the speed of light, right?

A slightly more accurate formula is (299,792,458/f(MHz))/1,000,000=wavelength(M).

Sure, it may only result in a difference of a few cm. But if you're applying other operations to this calculation, you'd want it as correct as possible, wouldn't you?
