"content": "There is a popular saying that is repeated in the bitcoin community: \"buy bitcoin, not crypto\". This creates a division that is not only unnecessary, but also detrimental to the world of cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is literally just that, a cryptocurrency, and in my opinion, cryptocurrencies are tools. We don't say \"use the hammer, don't use the saw\". Both are tools, both are equally useful, although they have different functions.\nYes, there are cryptocurrencies with less value or utility than others (we can call them shitcoins, yes), but I think there are three fundamental pillars, with different functionalities but all useful in their own way, that we have to take advantage of: bitcoin, ethereum, monero. Even stablecoins can serve a useful function. \nWith nostr, we have in our hands a great platform to generate community. Let's not just reduce it to bitcoin.\nIn my opinion, we would all benefit more and build a much healthier and more functional crypto ecosystem and community if we put aside these differences. The tools are there, more within reach than ever.
