She is I believe, indeed highly intelligent.
I've found the views she's espoused in her parliamentary career hard to reconcile with those of the person she appeared to be as an engineer, but perhaps, as with so many successful politicians, she's somewhat of a chameleon.
Or perhaps, as you hint at, she's ambitious enough to use people and their views as tools to get her where she wants.
I don't know if she'll ever become PM. But if she does, she has much more in common with Thatcher than with Johnson.
And I mean that in the sense of a leader who can bend the entire party to their will by their personality, rather than the Johnsonian pigs snuffling among the leavings.
